Bare Branding represents the unique transformation of a private business into a social enterprise aimed at encouraging local people to learn new skills and work together. It borrows from the Maker Movement and the open-access studio approach used in other cities to bring useful and marketable skills to the general public.
Cyan Clayworks is a working ceramic studio. We make and exhibit ceramics, run courses and bespoke workshops and offer individual tuition, facility hire and technical support. The studio is a creative hub for all things ceramic, run by experienced artists with a passion and enthusiasm for sharing their knowledge.
The club provide a monthly blues event, featuring touring blues acts from the UK and beyond, with support from the finest local blues artists. We have a choice of venues and a core membership who pay a regular payment for entry to all our events at a discount to individual ticket sales. It is our intention to carry out related activities which benefit the community such as workshops and master-classes in the blues.

The Grassmarket Community Project supports people through transitions in their lives and re-connects the disengaged. They run four social enterprises through the project: their successful wood workshop GrOW, creating bespoke pieces of furniture from recycled wood; a purpose-designed conference and event space; a cafe and catering service and the manufacture of tartan items including their very own “greyfriars” tartan.

Lingo Flamingo are the world’s first not-for-profit to use language learning as a therapeutic platform for those living with dementia. At first it might sound a strange thing to do, but our work is powered by some fascinating research showing that learning a language can delay dementia and help aid stroke recovery.
Media Education is a community interest company established in 1989 with a strong track record in producing a wide range of media outputs including digital media, creative films, documentaries, training videos, animation and graphics.

The Edinburgh Tool Library is the UK’s first tool library, promoting sharing as a way of reducing our environmental impact. We lend our members tools for DIY, gardening, decorating and machine repair, so they don’t need to own them. This collaborative approach make sense environmentally, and also helps our members financially.
Our mission is to make circus affordable and accessible to all. We teach easily accessible, ground-based circus skills like juggling, hula hoop, acrobatics, plate-spinning and balance.
Tribe Porty is a community coworking and events space and community is important to the way we work. Our coworking space is specifically designed to encourage creativity – the random collision of people and ideas that spur innovation, exchange and connectivity.
