Turn2us is a national charity providing practical help to people who are struggling financially.
Through the Edinburgh Trust the charity has been providing financial support to residents in Edinburgh since 2011. Until recently the Trust has focused on providing financial support to people needing short term help for themselves and their families.
With the Edinburgh Trust Community Programme, they’re now looking to fund and support new and innovative projects that can provide more lasting and longer term positive impacts to help improve lives, reduce poverty, and get the best out of the people and resources in Edinburgh’s communities.
The Programme is offering seed funding of up to £10,000 to people and projects that would not yet be ready to access other sources of social enterprise support – but who have exciting ideas for reducing poverty that they’re ready to test out. Funding will be available to help get these ideas up and running, as well as ongoing support to shape and develop the work provided through Edinburgh Social Enterprise.
“This is a really exciting opportunity for people who may never have thought of applying for funding before to access some help to kick start their idea – be that a social enterprise, community project or charitable venture. Partnering with organisations such as Edinburgh Social Enterprise, we’ll be able to provide advice and support, as well as an all important injection of cash, to help get these ideas off the ground.” Hannah Lawson, Edinburgh Trust
